HPLC analysis of PAH, including soxhlet extraction

With our Kratos high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) equipment it is possible to separate mixtures of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) with a C18-silicacolumn and detecting the individual PAH with a Jasco fluorescence detector followed by a Gynkotek diode array detector.

For PAH extraction from soil samples the Soxhlet's procedure is used. In this procedure oil and fat are extracted by repeated washing (percolation) with an organic solvent, usually hexane, under reflux in a special glassware.
